Caerphilly Homes tenants encouraged to open door to warmer and greener future

Posted on : 24 Sep 2025 Caerphilly County Borough Council is encouraging tenants to allow access to their homes for a full property survey that will help plan future improvements, making homes warmer, more energy efficient and affordable to live in.

The Council's Caerphilly Homes team is carrying out full stock condition surveys as part of the next phase of the Welsh Housing Quality Standard (WHQS 2023). This updated standard focuses on making homes warmer, more energy efficient, and better for the environment. The first phase of WHQS brought major upgrades like new kitchens and bathrooms. Now, WHQS23 aims to improve comfort and reduce energy costs for tenants.

To plan these improvements, the Caerphilly Homes team need to assess every property and are asking tenants to allow access for this important survey, as it's a key step in shaping the future of their home. Tenants are being encouraged to support this important step by:
  • Confirming their survey appointment as soon as they receive it.
  • Making sure someone aged 16 or over is at home on the day of the survey.
