Marion County Veterans Services has been bringing benefit information and assistance to our community's heroes through local events and meetings since October 2015. These free outreach efforts continue throughout the year at seven convenient Marion County locations.
The veterans briefing program helps veterans living in more remote areas of the county to easily obtain information and assistance at a location closer to their home. After a benefits overview by Marion County Veterans Services, attendees have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the department's staff for assistance with applications or to obtain answers to their benefit-related questions.
Veterans Services staff identifies each veteran's eligibility and assists with the application process for benefits, including, but not limited to, disability compensation, pension, appeals, widow's pension, death pension, dependency and indemnity compensation, education, home loans, and healthcare assistance.
These veterans briefings underscore the county's strategic goal of increasing public outreach. For more information, contact Marion County Veterans Services at 352-671-8422.
