USDA Names Trump Administration Appointees to the Montana Farm Service Agency State Committee

Bozeman, Mont. - Jan. 13, 2026 - The USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) today announced the appointment of five leaders in agriculture to serve on the Montana USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) state committee.

Members of the FSA state committee are appointed by Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins and, in support of the Trump Administration's Farmers First commitment, members of the FSA state committee are responsible for the oversight of farm programs and county committee operations, resolving program delivery appeals from the agriculture community, maintaining cooperative relations with industry stakeholders and keeping producers informed about current FSA programs.

Each FSA state committee is comprised of three to five members including a designated chairperson. The individuals appointed to serve on this committee for Montana are:

  • Carl Raabe Mattson, Chair (Chester) - Mattson is a longtime operator of a no-till dryland grain farm that produces small cereal grains. Mattson has led the farm as chief executive officer and board chairman for over two decades. He previously served as chairman of the Montana FSA state committee during the first Trump Administration.
  • Gene Raymond Curry, Member (Valier) - Curry is founder and president of a livestock operation as well as a livestock trucking enterprise. The ranch includes farmland, pasture, hay meadows, and a 500-head backgrounding lot with plans for expansion. He previously served on the Montana FSA state committee during the first Trump Administration from 2020-2021.
  • Brian Dale Eggebrecht, Member (Belgrade) - Eggebrecht is owner and operator of a large operation that produces wheat, barley, dry peas, lentils, and oilseeds in rotation in Phillips County. He also leases pastureland to cow-calf producers, and provides custom farming, chemical sales, and commercial spraying as a licensed ag chemical dealer and applicator.
  • Constance Ione Iversen, Member (Culbertson) - Iversen is a fourth-generation farmer and rancher who manages a cow-calf operation with irrigated hay, pasture, and cropland along the Missouri River. She is responsible for herd management, calving, feeding, and hay production. Iversen previously served on the Richland FSA county committee.
  • Robert E. Lee, Member (Lewistown) - Lee is owner and operator of a diversified cattle and grain operation that raises crossbred cattle and grows hay and wheat. He developed efficient grazing and water systems on the operation and applied sustainable practices to improve soil health and livestock production. Lee previously served on the Montana FSA state committee during the first Trump Administration.

"These individuals, selected by Secretary Rollins in partnership with key stakeholders in each state, are held in high regard in the agriculture industry and are entrusted to ensure FSA programs are delivered in a manner consistent with federal farm policy and in the best interest of all agricultural producers in their state," said FSA Administrator Bill Beam. "Their appointment to the FSA state committee is a testament to their standing in the industry and their dedication to the agriculture industry, rural America and President Trump's America First, Farmers First policies."

FSA helps America's farmers, ranchers and forest landowners invest in, improve, protect and expand their agricultural operations through the delivery of agricultural programs for all Americans. FSA implements agricultural policy, administers credit and loan programs, and manages conservation, commodity, disaster recovery and marketing programs through a national network of state and county offices and locally elected county committees.
