New Vibrancy Efforts to Support Parklets, Café Seating & Outdoor Retail Activities

Supporting the City's Economic Development Strategy and recent Council direction, an updated Cal Ave. Outdoor Activation program seeks to offer a boost for the car-free portion of Cal Ave. The program is intended to support a vibrant district by enabling parklets, café seating, and retail activity outside/in the public right-of-way - while ensuring an accessible, safe, equitable, and well-designed promenade. This update offers new details about the proposed program, and upcoming ways to share feedback before Council consideration in June.
