We Want You to Know...

Rebecca Howard Park Development Plan headed to City Council
The Rebecca Howard Park Development Plan will go before the Olympia City Council for approval on Tuesday, March 24 at 6 p.m. at Olympia City Hall, Council Chambers (601 4th Ave E). Council approval is an important step that will allow the City to move forward with securing funding and eventually building the park.

The plan has already received strong support, with recommendations for approval from the Parks, Arts and Recreation Advisory Committee (Oct. 2025) and the Community Livability and Safety Commission (Jan. 2026), along with full support from the Olympia Arts Commission (Dec. 2025).

Watch now: Olympia Art & Artists - Abe Singer
In the first episode of "Olympia Art & Artists," meet Abe Singer, the artist behind the new sculptures at Grass Lake Nature Park. Singer transformed an old steel water tank into three imaginative pieces, a bird blind and two mushrooms, that reflect the park's ecological restoration and the natural cycle of decomposition. Watch the video to hear Abe share the story and science behind this unique project.

Volunteer Opportunities
Join us for an upcoming Parks Stewardship Volunteer Opportunity! Tools, gloves, and light refreshments provided. Youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Learn more or sign up at Volunteer Olympia.
