City launches EV charge assistance for multifamily property owners

Published March 13 2026

The city's Sustainable Bellevue team has launched a technical assistance program to support local multifamily building owners interested in providing on-site electric vehicle charging for their residents.

The number of EVs in Bellevue has nearly tripled over the past six years. But one of the most common barriers renters and multifamily residents face when considering EVs is a lack of access to at-home charging capabilities.

ChargeReady Bellevue helps remove this barrier by helping multifamily property owners understand their buildings' level of readiness and infrastructure requirements for charging installations. By focusing on early-stage planning efforts, ChargeReady Bellevue ensures new multifamily installations are technically feasible, code-compliant and cost-effective.

ChargeReady Bellevue services will help property owners streamline installations through:

  • In-person site assessments
  • Electrical capacity analyses
  • Preliminary cost estimates
  • Available funding and incentives guidance
  • Process navigation support

Multifamily property owners and managers can learn more by visiting ChargeReady or emailing [email protected].
