Formlabs Launches $699 Consumer 3D Printer

SOSV portfolio company Formlabs is one of the world's leading 3D printer manufacturers, with nearly 200,000 printers in use worldwide. Until now, the company has primarily served professional customers, from manufacturers to dental practices, with printers typically priced at $2,500 or more.

Now, Formlabs is expanding into a new market. The company recently spoke with WIRED about the launch of its Form Studio 1, its most affordable resin 3D printer yet. Starting at just $699, the new printer is designed to make professional-quality 3D printing more accessible to creators, hobbyists, and small businesses.
