Uniontown, PA - Washington County Maintenance Manager Susan Howard has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of September 23. All maintenance activities depend on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive cautiously through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road) in Buffalo Township

Road closed. Posted detour:

  • Route 3009 (Sunset Beach Road)
  • Route 40 (Main Street)
  • Route 221 (S Bridge Road)
  • Route 3009 (Cracraft Road)

​Brushing and tree trimming:

  • Route 481 (Old National Pike) in Carroll and Fallowfield townships and the City of Monongahela​

Ditch line cleaning:

  • Route 231 (East Finley Drive) in Blaine, Donegal and East Finley townships and Claysville borough
  • Route 2027 (Twilight Hollow Road) in Speers Borough

Inlet cleaning:

  • Route 40 (Chestnut Street Extension) in Amwell and South Strabane townships and the City of Washington
  • Route 88 (Pennsylvania Avenue) in Fallowfield Township

Litter/debris removal:

  • Interstate 70 in Fallowfield, Somerset, and South Strabane townships and Speers and Twilight boroughs
  • I-79 in Amwell Township

Mowing:

  • I-70 Ramp 8014 (Jefferson Avenue) in the City of Washington
  • Route 136 (East Beau Street) Park and Ride in South Strabane Township
  • Route 221 (S Bridge Road) in Buffalo Township
  • Route 519 Ramp 9501 in North Strabane Township
  • Route 837 Ramp 8025 in Donora Borough

Patching:

  • Route 2015 (Spring Valley Road) in West Bethlehem Township
  • Route 2022 (Barr Run Road) in West Bethlehem Township

Pipe flushing:

  • Route 18 (Prosperity Pike) in Morris, North Franklin, and South Franklin townships
  • Route 2017 (Vanceville Road) in Somerset Township

Seal coating:

  • Route 221 (S Bridge Road) in Blaine, Buffalo, Morris, and South Franklin townships
  • Route 3009 (Cracraft Road) in Buffalo and East Finley townships
  • Route 3022 (Mount Zion Road) in Morris Township
  • Route 3027 (Chapel Hill Road) in East Finley Township
  • Route 3033 (Burnsville Ridge Road) in East Finley, Morris, and West Finley townships
  • Route 3041 (Cash Day Road) in Morris Township

Slide repair:

  • Route 2015 (Spring Valley Road) in West Bethlehem Township
  • Route 4012 (Center Street) in Smith Township​

Crews will pick litter, replace downed and updated signs, and address work orders on various state routes countywide.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1 or following regional X alerts.
