Washington County Route W scheduled to close early June

JEFFERSON CITY , M o - The project to replace the bridge deck (driving surface) o n the Washington County Route W bridge over Ashley Branch , southeast of Bourbon , is scheduled to begin in early June. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Louis-Company , LLC to complete the project. Route W is expected to close to all traffic at the bridge on Monday , June 1 , and remain closed around-the-cl ock through the end of July . During the closure, motorist s will need to use an alternate route.

Built in 1963, the supporting structures are in good condition , but the driving surface is nearing the end of its useful life and is in need of replacement . The new driv ing surface will be 2 4 feet wide, t he same as the current structure .
