Las Vegas City Councilmembers To Be Sworn In
Nevada Child Seekers And Citizen Of The Month To Be Recognized
Las Vegas Ward 4 Councilwoman Francis Allen-Palenske and Ward 6 Councilwoman Nancy Brune will each be sworn in for their second terms in office at the start of the July 1, 2026, City Council meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of Las Vegas City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.
Councilwoman Allen-Palenske ran unopposed and Councilwoman Brune won her primary election with more than 50 percent of the vote. The City Council members serve four-year terms in office. The Ward 2 council seat will be determined in the November general election, along with the races for Municipal Court judge in departments 1 and 2.
In addition, during the ceremonial portion of the agenda, Councilwoman Allen-Palenske will recognize Nevada Child Seekers for its unwavering commitment to protecting families throughout Nevada.
For more than 40 years, Nevada Child Seekers has helped locate missing and runaway children, provided critical resources to families in crisis and delivered child safety education to thousands of local youths each year.
Finally, Mayor Pro Tem Brian Knudsen will recognize the July 2026 Citizen of the Month, Cimarron-Memorial High School (CMHS) Principal Colin McNaught. McNaught joined the staff at CMHS in 2013 as a biology teacher, before becoming a dean, an assistant principal and now a principal.
The council meeting will be broadcast live on city of Las Vegas TV, and on the city of Las Vegas TV YouTube channel.
