WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Rick Scott was named Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee on Seapower for the 119th Congress in an announcement from Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) Chairman Roger Wicker and Ranking Member Jack Reed. As chairman of the Senate Armed Services Subcommittee for Seapower and a Navy veteran myself, I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to support the missions of the Department of Defense-especially when it comes to shipbuilding and submarine manufacturing to further cement America as the most lethal fighting force in the world. I will continue working to ensure the Sunshine State, America's national security initiatives, our military, veterans and their families are supported, and I want to thank Chairman Wicker and Ranking Member Reed for this great honor."
