CYPRESS, Calif. - The City of Cypress earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association for its comprehensive financial report for the 2024-'25 Fiscal Year.
This is the 41st consecutive year Cypress has earned the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, recognizing the City's continued commitment to maintaining high standards of financial reporting and transparency.
"For more than four decades, Cypress has demonstrated its dedication to providing the community with clear, accurate and accessible financial information," said Leo Medrano, Mayor of Cypress. "We are proud to maintain this longstanding standard of excellence."
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
The City's annual comprehensive financial report was reviewed by an impartial panel and judged to meet the high standards of the Certificate of Achievement program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate the City's financial status and encourage the public to read and understand the report.
The Government Finance Officers Association advances excellence in government finance by providing best practices, professional development, resources and practical research for more than 28,000 members and the communities they serve.
