County Road 6 Crossing Opens to Traffic

17th of 19 bridges over the stormwater diversion channel opens to traffic

FARGO, N.D. - As the summer construction season gears up, one element of the stormwater diversion channel portion of the FM Area Diversion project is finishing. Red River Valley Alliance is excited to announce the opening of the County Road 6 crossing over the channel.

Crews will begin constructing tie-ins between the existing CR 6 and the newly built roadway to move traffic from the bypass lanes to the permanent roadway on Monday, June 1. Temporary lane closures in each direction will be necessary as this work is completed. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic through the lane closures. The crossing is expected to be fully opened to traffic by the end of the week.

Located northwest of Horace, construction on the CR 6 bridge began in October 2024. The bridge features a pedestrian/bike lane on the south side of the bridge. With the opening of this bridge, the removal of the bypass lanes will begin in the near future.

Work on the bridge was completed by ASN Constructors and subcontractor Industrial Builders, Inc.
