City of Wilmington Extends Deadline for Property Tax Payments to October 31

WILMINGTON - City officials announced on Friday that the property tax payment deadline has been extended to Friday, October 31. Originally set for the end of August, this is the City's second deadline extension.

This announcement comes one day after Mayor Carney shared the City's plans for rectifying inaccuracies in property reassessments for the upcoming tax year. On October 2, the City will introduce a budget amendment to fund interior reassessments of residential properties, verification of the methodology used in commercial property reassessment, and financial support for low-income homeowners during the appeals process. More information on the announcement is available here.

Wilmington residents can pay their City property tax bills online before the October 31 deadline through Citizen Self Service. Residents in need of assistance using the portal are encouraged to call 311.
