In a significant step toward addressing longstanding health access challenges in West Dayton, Dayton Children's Hospital breaks ground on a new pediatric urgent care designed to address the need for on-demand, conveniently located pediatric sick care. This project, born from many conversations with local families and residents, will provide services to address injuries or illnesses that aren't life threatening but need medical attention on the same day.
"At Dayton Children's, we believe every child deserves a clear and accessible path to good health-no matter where they live," said Debbie Feldman, president and CEO of Dayton Children's. "This new pediatric urgent care in West Dayton represents a commitment to listening to families and working to improve access where families say they need it most."
"By listening to families, partnering with local organizations and investing in the health of our children, we are providing greater access to the services parents says they need most in the West Dayton community."
The groundbreaking event also celebrates a generous $1.5 million donation from CareSource that will support both the urgent care and broader initiatives to serve the families of West Dayton.
"CareSource has had the honor of supporting Dayton Children's Hospital for many years, recognizing the significant impact they have on the well-being of their patients and the communities they serve," said Scott Markovich, executive vice president, markets and products at CareSource. "We are proud to contribute to the construction of the new West Dayton urgent care building, which will greatly enhance access to quality care. We look forward to the positive outcomes this facility will provide for future generations."
Located at 1711 Germantown Street, the Dayton Children's West Dayton urgent care will offer extended hours and walk-in appointments for injuries and illnesses that are non-emergent but need medical attention on the same day,
