Chinese Consul General in Johannesburg Pan Qingjiang Meets with the Vice Chancellor of the University of the Free State

On January 16, 2026, Mr. Pan Qingjiang, Consul General of China in Johannesburg, visited the University of the Free State (UFS) and met with Vice Chancellor and Principal, Prof Hester C. Klopper.

Consul General Pan briefed about the current development of China and China-South Africa relations, the programs marking the China-Africa Year of People-to-people Exchanges and expressed the Consulate General's willingness to increase engagement with the UFS to jointly promote educational cooperation and youth exchange between the two countries. Prof. Hester welcomed the Consul General on his visit, introduced UFS and its cooperation with Chinese counterparts, and expressed the commitment to strengthening exchanges and collaboration in the future.
