City Council leadership announces additional funding for the Pikes Peak or Bust Parade

City Council Leadership announced today that the Pikes Peak or Bust Parade will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, July 11, 2026, following a successful effort to close a funding gap that had placed the event in jeopardy.

The parade faced cancellation because of a shortage of funding needed to support critical city services associated with the event, including police presence, parking management, and safety barriers. With the support of UCHealth as title sponsor, and key contributions from AMR (American Medical Response) and Bank of Colorado (Dan Nordberg), that gap has now been addressed.

The return of the parade is welcome news for Colorado Springs and for the many families and community members who have long supported this treasured tradition. The Pikes Peak or Bust Parade is more than a signature summer event - it is a celebration of our Western heritage, a reflection of the history, values, and enduring spirit that helped shape Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region.

For generations, this parade has honored the character of the American West and the deep community pride that continues to define our city. From its rodeo roots to its place in the heart of downtown, the Pikes Peak or Bust Parade represents a living connection to the traditions, culture, and shared identity that residents have carried forward for decades.
