Lowenstein Sandler LLP has announced that Scott D. Fisher has joined the firm's Transactions & Advisory Group as partner in its Mergers & Acquisitions and Capital Markets & Securities practices. He will be based in the firm's New York City office.
A former partner at Steptoe, Fisher advises corporate clients, investment funds, and individuals on a wide range of corporate and securities matters, including public and private offerings of debt and equity, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate governance. He brings more than 25 years of experience representing both issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions. Fisher regularly counsels private equity funds across the full lifecycle of their investments, from acquisition to exit, and has significant experience handling complex, cross-border transactions, including in regulated industries.
"Lowenstein's Vision 2030 Strategic Plan is focused on expanding our platform in ways that align with evolving client needs," says Jonathan C. Wishnia, the firm's Managing Partner. "Adding Scott to our Capital Markets and M&A groups accomplishes precisely that: reinforcing two practices that are already cornerstones of the firm, while positioning us to capture additional market share among middle-market investment banks and sponsors who need sophisticated attention on their most complex transactions."
Steven M. Skolnick, partner and Chair of Lowenstein's Capital Markets & Securities practice and Vice Chair of its Transactions & Advisory Group, says: "Scott will meaningfully deepen our securities law bench and expand how we support our clients in creative capital raising strategies, from IPOs, RDOs, and PIPEs to SPACs and other alternative forms of capital raising."
"I've been watching the firm for a few years, and it is obvious that Lowenstein is ascendant," says Fisher. "Its broad-based transactional platform will enable me to deliver a full range of services to clients while also allowing me to expand my underwriter representations. I'm excited to collaborate across the firm's corporate practices, including its market-leading venture practice, and to partner with talented colleagues as the firm continues its strong growth trajectory."
Jeffrey M. Shapiro, partner and Chair of Lowenstein's Transactions & Advisory Group, says: "Scott's unique capabilities across both mergers and acquisitions and capital markets matters, together with the recent addition of Ivan Presant, further strengthen the momentum we are seeing across Lowenstein's transactional practices and enhance our cross-border capabilities. His broad experience is highly complementary to our collaborative, cross-practice approach to serving clients."
A former clerk for the Hon. Raymond J. Dearie of the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of New York, Fisher earned his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from Yale University. He is the second M&A partner to join Lowenstein's New York City office this month: Ivan J. Presant joined the firm on May 9 from Mintz.
