Rep. Nancy Mace To Force Release Of Names Of Members Of Congress Who Abused Their Office And Used Tax Dollars To Cover It Up

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Apr. 21, 2026) - Today, Congresswoman Nancy Mace announced the names of every Member of Congress who abused their position of power and used American tax dollars to cover it up will be released soon.

In March, Rep. Mace made a subpoena motion to the Office of Congressional Workplace Rights (OCWR) demanding the release of all awards and settlements paid pursuant to Section 415 of the Congressional Accountability Act prior to December 12, 2018 for misconduct by Members of Congress. The only redactions permitted would be those necessary to protect the personally identifiable information of victims and witnesses.

The OCWR is gathering documents to comply with Rep. Mace's request and the information is expected soon.

"For too long, Congress has swept this under the rug, protecting predators at the expense of victims and taxpayers. Those days are over," said Congresswoman Mace. "The American people have unknowingly been paying for this cover-up. We started this fight, we made the subpoena motion, and we will not rest until these names are released and every predator in Congress has no other choice but to resign."

Rep. Mace has been leading the charge on holding predators accountable in Congress, starting with her resolution to publicly release records and reports on all investigations into Members of Congress for sexual harassment and unwelcome sexual advances. The resolution was killed by 357 members on both sides of the aisle to protect themselves and their friends.

Rep. Mace then took it a step further, making her subpoena motion to the OCWR to have these names released, which passed the Oversight Committee. SEE HERE

Between 1997 and 2019, the Treasury paid out over $18 million in taxpayer dollars to settle nearly 300 workplace harassment and discrimination claims on behalf of Members of Congress and other Congressional employees. This is your money used to cover up their misconduct. The American people deserve to know exactly who used their dollars to keep their secrets hidden.

"Congress thought they could keep this buried forever. They killed our resolution, protected each other for years, and counted on no one ever finding out. Eric Swalwell and Tony Gonzales are the first two out the door. We are not done cleaning house. The names are coming and those who abused their power will have nowhere left to hide," Mace added.
