ATLANTA METRO - Crews for Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) crews will install lane closures on Interstate 75 and Interstate 85 (I-75/85) The Connector overpass tunnels in Fulton County and Interstate 20 (I-20) in Fulton County. These closures are a part of a project to upgrade the existing tunnel lighting to energy efficient LED and repair or replace lighting equipment at 14 key locations throughout metro Atlanta, including the ones listed below: the Connector at Capital Avenue/SR 154/Memorial Drive Overpass Tunnel, the Connector at Ralph McGill Boulevard at Baker Street Overpass Tunnel, and I-85 from I-75 to Lenox Road.
Weather permitting, these are the scheduled lane and ramp closures:
6 a.m. on Saturday, September 19 until 8:30 p.m. on Sunday
I-85 from I-75 to Lenox Road

Rolling lane closures on the I-85 HOV lanes northbound and southbound from Peachtree Street to the I-85/I-75 interchange
9 p.m. on Friday, September 18 until 5 a.m. on Monday
I-20 from Linkwood Drive to I-75/I-85 Connector

One rolling shoulder lane closure on I-20 eastbound and westbound from Linkwood Drive to the I-85 interchange

One rolling lane closure on the I-20 entrance and exit ramps at McDaniel Street (exit 56A) and Windsor Street (exit 57)
GDOT is investing $30 million in 14 projects to replace and upgrade the lighting in the overpass tunnels throughout metro Atlanta.
