Middle East: President Meloni continues contacts with leaders in the region

Over the course of today, the President of the Council of Ministers, Giorgia Meloni, continued her contacts with leaders in the Middle East region, starting with telephone conversations with the King of Jordan and the Sultan of Oman, in addition to the numerous calls she held yesterday with the other authorities of the Gulf nations.

President Meloni also had conversations with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, as the current Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

President Meloni then briefed the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, fully updating him on the developments in the situation and on the contacts that have taken place.

In parallel, constant coordination continues with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, regarding the situation of Italian nationals resident in and travelling in the region, who are once again urged to exercise maximum caution and to follow the indications provided by the Crisis Unit at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
