City of Montgomery hosts free back-to-school bash on July 26

MONTGOMERY, AL - Montgomery families are invited to a day of fun, free resources, and community connection at this year's Back-to-School Bash on Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Multiplex at Cramton Bowl, located at 220 Hall St.

The City of Montgomery's Parks & Recreation Department has collaborated with community organizations like C.H.A.N.G.E., Ty Talks, and Young Men on a Mission to make this event happen.

Open to the public, the event will provide families with free resources and services to help students start the school year confident and equipped for success. Attendees will receive grade-specific school supply packs, while supplies last. Children must be present with a parent or guardian following registration to receive school supplies and backpacks.

The Back-to-School Bash will also feature interactive games, inflatables, free food, giveaways, and prize raffles. Families will have the opportunity to connect with community partners and local vendors offering after-school programs, tutoring, youth mentoring, and health and wellness resources.

"The Back-to-School Bash is all about supporting our youth and helping families get excited about the upcoming school year," said Brandon Dean, Director of Montgomery Parks and Recreation. "We're proud to partner with others to create a fun, welcoming event that brings the community together."

This year's Bash will feature expanded activity zones and increased school supply distribution to reach even more families across Montgomery. The goal is to ease the back-to-school transition by providing essential tools and reinforcing community support.

"Our focus is on uplifting Montgomery's future by ensuring every child has the resources they need to thrive," said Mayor Steven L. Reed. "Events like this create real opportunities-especially for families in communities that have too often been overlooked."

Vendors and volunteers will be on hand to assist with activities throughout the day. Families, donors, or community members seeking more information can call 334-625-2300 or email [email protected].
