ROK Government Representative’s Attendance at Inaugural Meeting of Board of Peace (Feb 19)

On February 19, former Ambassador Kim Yonghyon attended the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace held in the United States as the representative of the Korean government.

※ Former Ambassador Kim Yonghyon, who recently served as the Ambassador to Egypt, has expertise in Middle Eastern affairs and international conflict resolution. He was appointed as a Special Envoy of the Foreign Minister for this mission.

※ The Board of Peace is an international organization established by U.S. President Trump with the objective of resolving international conflicts.

The inaugural meeting marked the official launch of the Board of Peace's mandate, and participants discussed plans for reconstruction and peacebuilding in the Gaza Strip during the meeting.

The Korean government has consistently supported U.S. President Trump's initiative in promoting peace in Gaza, including by attending this inaugural meeting, and will continue to participate in the international community's efforts to achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.
