Delta Air Lines again was named among the top employers in the world by Forbes, in its ninth annual ranking of global employers.

Among the 900 companies listed in the survey, Delta ranked No. 2, up four places from the previous year. Forbes spotlighted Delta in announcing this year's results, highlighting the ways the airline listens and responds to employees to create a more positive work environment.

Delta's "open-door policy" enables employees to communicate with leaders directly through email or in person. In addition, each corporate market has a designated senior leader who regularly visits employees, providing updates on the business and answering any questions.

That open line of communication, along with employee engagement surveys, have allowed Delta to respond to employees' needs. For example, the airline launched an Emergency Savings Program in 2023 in direct response to employee feedback; now, more than 40,000 employees have participated. In addition, the company heard employees asking for more flexibility related to its employee pass travel, so Delta adjusted privileges to allow for an additional travel companion.

In August, Delta was also named by Forbes among the top American employers, including being tabbed No. 1 in Georgia, Michigan and Utah.

HOW FORBES DETERMINES WORLD'S BEST EMPLOYERS

To create the list of the World's Best Employers - 2025, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 300,000 employees in over 50 countries who work for multinational corporations that employ more than 1,000 workers and operate in at least two of the six continental regions of the world (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America and Oceania). Respondents were asked whether they would recommend their company to family or friends, and to rate it on such criteria as salary, talent development and remote work options. Participants could also rate companies from their own industry knowledge and through friends and family who worked there.

Responses were collected, tallied and incorporated into a scoring system, along with survey data from the past three years. Greater weight was given to current employees and the more recent data. The number of honorees varied based on the country's population and qualifying companies. A total of 850 companies, from 48 countries, were recognized.
