Kutz Named Chair of House Appropriations Subcommittee on Fiscal Policy

Feb. 05, 2026

HARRISBURG - State Rep. Thomas Kutz (R-Cumberland) has been appointed chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Fiscal Policy. This leadership role comes after three years of dedicated service on the House Appropriations Committee and follows Tuesday's 2026-27 state budget address.

"I'm honored to lead the Fiscal Policy Subcommittee at such a critical time," said Kutz. "The governor's budget address has set the stage for months of hard work ahead. Our focus will be on ensuring a responsible, balanced budget that reflects the priorities of Pennsylvanians while maintaining fiscal discipline.

As chair, Kutz will review policy regarding revenue projections, long-term financial planning, and strategies to strengthen Pennsylvania's economic outlook. He remarked that he is eager to delve into Appropriations Committee hearings with state agency leaders in the coming weeks and thanked Appropriations Committee Chairman Jim Struzzi (R-Indiana) for the appointment.

Kutz's appointment underscores his commitment to sound financial stewardship and his proven record of leadership on budgetary matters.
