Councillor Swaffer sworn in as Deputy Mayor
Councillor Jodie Swaffer has been declared as the City of Karratha Deputy Mayor.
Cr Swaffer was elected to the position by fellow councillors and sworn in by Mr Anthony Anderson, Justice of Peace.
She takes over the role from Councillor Daiva Gillam who served as Deputy Mayor from 2023-2025.
The decision was made during the recent council meeting with three members putting their hands up for the position.
Cr Swaffer will serve as Deputy Mayor for a period of two years, expiring in 2027.
