Building AI literacy

This is a follow up to the AP's first guide Get Started with AI Literacy. The new guide elaborates on the legal obligation and provides practical examples to clarify the multiannual action plan.

AI literacy is an obligation under the AI Act. Anyone working with AI systems within or on behalf of an organisation should have skills, knowledge and understanding of the technical functioning of AI systems, as well as their social, ethical and practical aspects.

AI literacy is a prerequisite for responsible AI and algorithms. It enables organisations to make the most of innovative technology, properly assess the impact of a system and adequately mitigate risks. The AP stresses that the increasing use of AI also requires growing commitment for AI literacy.
