A suspect has been arrested in connection to an injury shooting in May.
On Saturday, May 17, 2025, officers assigned to the Portland Police Bureau's East Precinct responded to reports of a shooting in the 11000 block of Southeast Flavel Street. When they arrived, officers located an adult male suffering from numerous gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered life-saving aid until emergency medical personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the victim ultimately survived his injuries.
During an area search for the suspect, officers observed a vehicle speeding on Southeast Foster Road. The vehicle was briefly lost but later located unoccupied. Officers deployed a drone in an effort to locate the vehicle's occupant(s), but nobody was found. Detectives from PPB's Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) and Forensic Evidence Division (FED) responded to investigate. Through their efforts, detectives identified a 17-year-old male suspect.
On Thursday, September 18, 2025, ECST members located and arrested the now 18-year-old suspect, Jomonee J. Foster, of Portland. Foster was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center and lodged on the following charges: Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Assault in the First Degree.
