Equifax is continuing its commitment to leading in security, leveraging its advanced cloud-native technology and security infrastructure to drive innovation and protection. One of the largest Cloud initiatives ever undertaken in the industry, backed by a ~$3 billion multi-year investment, the Equifax Cloud transformation has changed nearly every facet of the organization's infrastructure and is a key component to the company delivering on its EFX2028 Strategic Priorities.
In fully leveraging the Equifax Cloud, the organization has transformed every aspect of its security operations, embedding security into the global team's DNA. The organization has established itself as an industry leader in data security and fostered a culture of shared security ownership across the organization.
The transition to fully cloud-native technology has enabled Equifax to use AI to support the ongoing evolution of its security strategy. The organization has established itself as an industry leader in data security by focusing on three distinct dimensions:
Using AI to enhance security: Equifax deployed specialized AI triage agents that helped auto-resolve nearly 50% of all Security Operations Center (SOC) tickets in 2025, maintaining a mean time to detect threats of under one minute.
Securing the business's use of AI: With almost 90% of the global workforce using AI last year, the security team implemented strict guardrails, including an agnostic control layer that inspects prompts and responses for sensitive data leakage or injection attacks before they interact with an AI model.
Defending against AI threats: Equifax deployed a system of active immunity, allowing the company to quickly analyze new AI-driven tactics and upgrade defenses enterprise-wide. Over the past year, these adaptive external defenses successfully blocked evasive malware and intercepted live deepfake attacks targeting company leadership.
Today, Equifax is regarded as having one of the most advanced, effective, and transparent cybersecurity programs of its kind, highlighted by the organization's Security Annual Report. The sixth annual report released earlier this year provides an in-depth look at how Equifax is maximizing its cloud-native infrastructure, successfully defending against more than 19.8 million cybersecurity threats daily in 2025.
The maturity of the Equifax cybersecurity program, with a 2025 National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework score of 4.4, increased in 2025 according to a leading global research and advisory firm, outperforming all major industry benchmarks for the sixth consecutive year. Equifax also maintained a security posture score that exceeded Technology and Financial Services industry averages.
Equifax is committed to continuing its industry leadership in security and remains deeply committed to transparency, communication, and collaboration, sharing its security resources for the benefit of the communities where it operates.
