On 13 August 2026, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Belarus, Alireza Sanei, on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission.
The parties emphasised the positive momentum in Belarusian-Iranian cooperation and the trustful dialogue that has developed at the highest and high levels. They reaffirmed the two countries' readiness to further develop multifaceted cooperation, including in the political, trade and economic, humanitarian and other spheres. They noted the high degree of mutual understanding regarding the coordination of efforts within international organisations.
The sides exchanged views on the priority steps for implementing joint projects aimed at increasing bilateral trade.
Sergey Lukashevich thanked Alireza Sanei for his significant contribution to the development of Belarusian-Iranian relations and his fruitful work as ambassador.
