Early Childhood Education Center earns prestigious NAEYC accreditation

Louisiana Tech University's Early Childhood Education Center has earned accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the nation's leading organization of early childhood professionals.

Fewer than 10 percent of all early childhood programs in the U.S. achieve NAEYC accreditation, making this a significant milestone for Louisiana Tech and the broader Ruston community.

"We are thrilled to receive this national accreditation," said Kelsey Moeller, director of the ECEC. "It reflects the dedication of our educators, the strength of our curriculum, and our unwavering focus on nurturing the development and learning of every child in our care."

NAEYC accreditation is a rigorous and comprehensive process that evaluates programs based on criteria such as curriculum, teaching practices, health and safety, staff qualifications, and family engagement.

"This achievement emphasizes Louisiana Tech's leadership in early childhood education as a model for others," said Dr. Henrietta Williams Pichon, dean of the College of Education and Human Sciences. "We are proud of the ECEC team and their dedication to excellence, which uniquely positions us to create more curiosity-driven opportunities for our youngest Bulldogs."

Housed within the School of Human Ecology in the College of Education and Human Sciences, the ECEC serves as a model early childhood program and a training site for Louisiana Tech students pursuing careers in human development and family science. This prestigious accreditation affirms the center's commitment to excellence in early learning and its alignment with the highest national standards.
