Summers County ARH Hospital welcomes Dr. Seth Graham

Dr. Chris Graham joins staff at Summers County ARH Hospital

HINTON, W.Va. - Dr. Seth Graham recently joined the team of providers at the Summers County ARH Rural Health Clinic.

Graham's name and face are most likely familiar to many from the area, as he previously worked as a pharmacist at Hinton Kroger.

Though the Mercer County native first considered a future in medicine while attending the Appalachian College of Pharmacy, it wasn't until 2019 - 10 years into his career - that he decided to make the change.

"I really liked my job as a pharmacist and I liked the people I worked with, but I just kept thinking I could do more to help folks as a doctor," he said.

Graham, a graduate of the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, said he was drawn to family practice for many of the same reasons he enjoyed working as a pharmacist.

"I really love talking to people and spending time getting to know them and following through with them," he said. "Family practice allows you to see patients throughout their entire lives, providing them the best care possible with the goal of helping them stay healthy and live longer."

Graham, who completed his family medical residency at CAMC in Charleston, said the decision to build his career in southern West Virginia, and at Summers County ARH, was an easy one.

"My family, my friends and everyone I love live in southern West Virginia," he said. "This is home and it's where I've always wanted to be. So, to be able to stay here and help care for the community and the people I love is very important.

"I'm grateful to be here and I'm excited to work with the wonderful people at Summers County ARH."

Hospital CEO Angie Rivera echoed Graham's words, adding she believes he is the perfect fit to help care for the area's residents.

"Throughout his career as a pharmacist, Dr. Graham established relationships and earned the trust of residents from throughout Summers County," she said. "So, we are both excited and honored that he has chosen to join us here at Summers County ARH Hospital, where he will continue those relationships and establish new ones as he helps us in our mission to provide the highest level of care for the patients we serve."

Graham and his wife, a middle school teacher in Mercer County, reside in Lerona with their two children and dog, Boomer.
