Nighttime Ramp and Intermittent Lane Closures at Exit 144 on I-29 in Sioux City begin on Oct. 27

If you travel on Interstate 29 in the Sioux City area you need to be aware of upcoming nighttime ramp closures and intermittent lane closures that may slow down your trip, according to the Iowa DOT's District 3 office.

Beginning on Monday, Oct. 27, weather permitting, crews will begin the process of removing overhang jacks. On weeknights beginning on Monday, Oct. 27, until Wednesday, Oct. 29, there will be intermittent closures of the southbound I-29 to eastbound U.S. 20/northbound U.S. 75 ramp (Ramp F) and the westbound U.S. 20/southbound U.S. 75 to southbound I-29 ramps (Ramp G).

Starting on Wednesday, Oct. 29, until Friday Oct. 31, there will be intermittent lane closures on north- and southbound I-29. Portable digital message boards will be in place to alert you to the work zones and lane and ramp closures.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
