On 15 December, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, will attend the meeting of the European Union's Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels, Belgium. Ministers will discuss EU support to Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and Belarus, the situation in the Middle East, and the EU-China relationship.
The focus will be on implementing the EU's security commitments to Ukraine and on possible security guarantees. The preparation of the 20th package of EU sanctions against Russia, the fight against the shadow fleet, and efforts to return all abducted Ukrainian children from illegal Russian captivity will also be discussed. An informal exchange of views with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiha, will take place via videoconference.
Ahead of the Foreign Affairs Council, EU foreign affairs ministers will hold an informal exchange with Armenia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan.
