Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau met on September 24 with Burundian Foreign Minister Edouard Bizimana on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Deputy Secretary congratulated the Foreign Minister on his recent appointment. They discussed strengthening bilateral ties and Deputy Landau underscored the United States' commitment to advancing peace and prosperity in the Great Lakes region of Africa.
