Congratulations to our local rowing club, Klabb Regatta Birzebbuga

Village pride… #MaltaFreeportTerminals heartily congratulates our local rowing club, Klabb Regatta Birżebbuġa Freeport, for winning the Regatta Shield 2025 in Category B in a round of hotly-contested races held to mark the March 31 public holiday. This exceptional achievement came after months of dedication and hard work by the club, which every year works tirelessly to raise its high standards. Following Malta's traditional September 8 Regatta, the club's committee immediately began preparations for the 2025 season, adding two new rowers to the crew. Despite a setback in the first race, where Birżebbuġa was forced to withdraw, the team mounted a strong comeback to finish 18 points ahead of second-placed Senglea with a total of 52 points. Malta's Minister for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, Clifton Grima, presented the Regatta Shield and trophy to club president Ian Farrugia and secretary Simon Micallef, to the delight of the team and their supporters. Congratulations all round and we look forward to celebrating your future successes.
