With respect to the ongoing server failure in our system, we have determined, based on an investigation, that the cause of the failure is unauthorized access to our system by a third party through ransomware. At present, our system has not recovered yet, and part of our operations has continued to be affected.
We have established an Emergency Response Headquarters, then conducting investigations, including a forensic investigation, to identify the scope of the impact and cause of this incident in coordination with external professionals. We have also consulted with and reported to the Japanese police regarding this incident.
Our efforts to restore the affected system to normal operation are ongoing. Unfortunately, however, it is expected that the restoration will take some time. We will update you on the status of our restoration work as well as the results of the investigations mentioned above.
We deeply apologize to our customers, our business partners and those otherwise affected for any inconvenience that this incident has caused.
