On 20 May 2026, the Department of Information, in collaboration with the Devawongse Varopakarn Institute of Foreign Affairs (DVIFA), organized a special lecture on Chud Thai, or Thai National Dress, for Ministry's officials and staff, as well as their spouses at the Narathip Auditorium. The lecture was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Anucha Thirakanont, Director of the Sustainable Arts and Crafts Institute of Thailand (SACIT), with the purpose to enhance understanding of the history, evolution, and cultural significance of Chud Thai in light of Thailand's nomination of "Chud Thai: Knowledge, Craftsmanship, and Practices of the Thai National Costume" for inscription on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2026.
On this occasion, SACIT also showcased Thai silk textiles, gold and silver jewelry, and various handicrafts, together with live demonstrations of traditional Thai craftsmanship at the Vithes Samosorn Hall. The event also featured an exhibition on Chud Thai as well as an AI photo booth offering participants a virtual experience of wearing Thai national dress.
