Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation invites residents to help shape the future of parks, recreation, golf, trails, natural areas, forestry, and community spaces by participating in the development of the City's new Parks & Recreation Comprehensive Plan.
Community members are invited to attend a public open house to learn about the planning process, meet with City staff and the consultant team, ask questions, and share ideas.
Community Open House:
-
Date: Tuesday, July 14
-
Time: 4:30-6:30 p.m.
-
Location: Jones Park Lodge, 2901 Fruitland Blvd. SW, Cedar Rapids
The Comprehensive Plan will serve as a long-range roadmap that helps guide future decisions about parks, recreation programs, golf courses, trails, natural areas, forestry, and community spaces over the next 10 to 15 years. Community input will play an important role in identifying priorities and opportunities that reflect the needs and interests of Cedar Rapids residents.
"Whether you visit a neighborhood park, participate in recreation programs, walk or bike our trails, golf at one of our municipal courses, or enjoy our pools and splash pads, your feedback is important," said Parks & Recreation Director Carrie Mardorf. "We encourage everyone to take part in this process and help shape the future of Parks & Recreation in Cedar Rapids."
