4th Avenue and Plum Street Traffic Signal Improvements - Night work
As part of the 4th Avenue and Plum Street Pedestrian and Bike Improvements project, the City will be upgrading the traffic signal at the intersection of 4th Avenue and Plum Street. Work is scheduled to begin the evening of Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

As part of this improvement, the existing traffic signal will be temporarily turned off while crews switch over to a new traffic signal cabinet. The work will require rewiring of the traffic signal system and is expected to be completed overnight.

What to Expect
  • Flaggers and uniformed police officers will be present to safely direct people driving, biking, and walking through the intersection.
  • One vehicle lane on each approach to the intersection will be closed to provide a safe work area and allow flaggers to safely manage traffic.
  • Minor traffic delays should be expected while the work is underway.
  • The traffic signal is expected to be fully operational by approximately 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
The City appreciates the community's patience and cooperation while this work is completed. This overnight effort will help minimize impacts to the traveling public while crews complete this important traffic signal improvement.
