Enabling SoftPOS payments

To further refine the in-store shopping experience for retailers and their customers, HP has focused on enabling SoftPOS payment experiences within retail stores. SoftPOS is new technology that allows retailers to accept credit and debit card payments on a wide variety of NFC-enabled devices such as the HP Engage One Pro G2 or HP Engage Go, reducing or eliminating the need for dedicated, traditional payment terminals. HP's Engage portfolio enables better and faster payment experiences via SoftPOS in all styles of checkout - fixed checkout at the counter, kiosk integration for self-checkout, and mobile payment anywhere around the store. HP has collaborated with Felix Payment Systems, a cloud-based SoftPOS software provider, to introduce this forward-thinking technology to our client base and the first joint client, Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) recently went live. NFM is an innovative retailer that is improving the mobile payment experience on their sales floors.

Felix Payment Systems is an industry-leading SoftPOS provider that specializes in novel cloud-based payment acceptance technologies. Felix transfers all core processing functionality of a traditional terminal to the cloud allowing certified EMV retail transactions to be accepted on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) devices.

Nebraska Furniture Mart (NFM) strives to be more than just a store, they strive to improve people's lifestyles with their expansive selection of anything from furniture to appliances, home décor, electronics, and more. NFM has been working together with HP and Felix to enhance the shopper experience by bringing the checkout to the customer, no matter where they are in the store, with HP's Engage Go mobile devices and Felix's tap to pay technology.
