NRC Advisory: NRC to Hold Public Hearing on Eden Medical Isotope Facility in New Mexico
ROCKVILLE, Md. - The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will hold a mandatory hearing on Eden Radioisotopes' application to build a medical isotope production facility in Lea County, New Mexico. The proposed facility would include a 1.8-megawatt reactor and a processing facility to produce isotopes for medical imaging and cancer treatment.
What: NRC staff will explain the review process, answer questions, and take public input. An open house precedes the hearing.
When: Sept. 29: Open house, 5-5:30 p.m., hearing, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Mountain time.
Where: Eunice Community Center, 1115 Avenue I, Eunice, New Mexico.
Note: Construction approval would not include operating approval, which Eden must seek separately. More information is available on the NRC website.
