Introducing The Ritz-Carlton to one of Brooklyn's most treasured neighborhoods, this project will transform the former Hotel Bossert into an extraordinary residential offering complete with a signature dining destination from Union Square Hospitality Group.

Marriott International, Inc. and SomeraRoad, a New York- and Nashville-based opportunistic real estate investment and development firm, today unveiled The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Brooklyn Heights, an exclusive collection of luxury residences that will introduce the legendary service and hospitality of The Ritz-Carlton to Brooklyn.

Long regarded as one of New York City's most sought-after residential neighborhoods, Brooklyn Heights is known for its landmark 19th century architecture, tree-lined streets, and sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline. In the heart of the neighborhood, at 98 Montague Street, sits The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Brooklyn Heights, occupying the former 14-story Renaissance Revival Hotel Bossert, a celebrated landmark in the heart of the neighborhood.

"The Hotel Bossert has long stood as one of Brooklyn's most iconic buildings, and we are honored to help write its next chapter," said Ian Ross, Founder and Managing Principal of SomeraRoad. "Working alongside an extraordinary team of architects, designers, preservation experts, and the team at Marriott International, we are thoughtfully restoring this historic property while creating a residential experience that honors the Bossert's rich legacy and celebrates the enduring appeal of Brooklyn Heights. We believe this project will become Brooklyn's premier residential address and stand among the finest new residential offerings in New York City."

"The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Brooklyn Heights is poised to further strengthen the leadership and legacy of The Ritz-Carlton Residences, and we are proud to work with SomeraRoad to thoughtfully transform this acclaimed landmark and welcome a new generation of residents," said Dana Jacobsohn, Marriott International Chief Development Officer Global Mixed-Use and Luxury, U.S. & Canada. "A fitting match for a brand renowned for timeless elegance, Brooklyn Heights is defined by its unique blend of historic charm and contemporary culture, and it is the perfect destination to mark the 50th standalone residence in the brand's global development portfolio."

Designed by acclaimed New York architecture firm Helmle & Huberty, the hotel originally opened in 1909 and quickly became a treasured destination for the neighborhood, welcoming celebrities, business leaders, and championship athletes and famously hosting the Brooklyn Dodgers' 1955 World Series celebration. SomeraRoad acquired the property in 2025 and assembled a world-class team of architects, designers, preservation specialists, and hospitality collaborators to thoughtfully revitalize and reimagine the landmark while honoring its enduring legacy. The building's distinctive Renaissance Revival architecture is defined by its original geometric pattern brick façade, sculpted granite and limestone base, ornate terra-cotta cornice and window details, arched double-height windows, intricate cast-iron railings, and signature lion's head keystones. These defining architectural elements of the building will be meticulously restored, preserving the building's historic character while preparing it for its next chapter.

The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Brooklyn Heights will combine the privacy and ownership of a luxury residence with the legendary hospitality, amenities, and global recognition of The Ritz-Carlton. Residents will enjoy a highly curated lifestyle experience defined by personalized service, elevated hospitality, and exclusive access to benefits across Marriott's portfolio through the company's Residence Owner Recognition Program, ONVIA. Complementing the residences will be an exceptional collection of amenities designed for wellness, leisure, and entertaining, alongside bespoke offerings including a 24-hour-attended lobby and dedicated residential services delivered to the exacting standards of The Ritz-Carlton.

Anchoring the property's vibrant street presence, Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG), founded by Danny Meyer, will debut its first full-service Brooklyn restaurant on the building's ground floor. Designed to become a destination for both residents and the surrounding community, the restaurant will bring USHG's celebrated neighborhood-driven hospitality to Brooklyn Heights while offering residents seamless access to exceptional dining, private entertaining opportunities, and curated culinary experiences.

Construction is expected to commence later this year, with completion anticipated in 2029. Exclusive sales and marketing are being led by Ryan Serhant's SERHANT. New Development, with Ravi Kantha and the Kantha Team leading sales. Additional information is available at https://www.rcrbrooklynheights.com.
