Congressman Brian Jack Welcomes U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright to Spalding County to Celebrate Job-Saving Legislation

Today, Congressman Brian Jack welcomed United States Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, a member of President Trump's Cabinet, to Spalding County to celebrate the repeal of a Biden Administration regulation that endangered a local manufacturing plant.

In February, Congressman Jack led a bipartisan majority to pass H.J. Res. 20, a joint resolution that repeals a regulation imposed during the Biden Administration that would have banned non-condensing tankless water heaters manufactured at Rinnai America Corporation's manufacturing facility, which employs over 200 workers.

The bipartisan vote in the U.S. House of Representatives was 221-198. 210 Republicans and 11 Democrats voted for the legislation. In the U.S. Senate, the legislation passed with a 53-44 bipartisan majority.

Following the vote, Rinnai President Frank Windsor said, "We cannot thank Congressman Jack enough for his engagement in bringing this terrible rule to the attention of the DOE. He helped preserve over 200 jobs and substantial investment in our two-year-old factory in Griffin, Georgia. He made it happen."

Today, Secretary Wright and Congressman Jack delivered remarks to a crowd of 500 attendees at the Rinnai plant, featuring workers and community leaders. Later, they toured the assembly line and had lunch with workers in the plant's cafeteria.

This is the second visit by a member of President Trump's Cabinet to Georgia's 3rd Congressional District in the past 2 weeks. Congressman Jack brought U.S. Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler to LaGrange on April 17 to tour small businesses and host a roundtable discussion with Troup County's business and political leaders.
