Tonight, Democrat Jamie Ager clinched victory in the Democratic primary election for North Carolina's 11th Congressional District. While Republicans continue to hemorrhage support as Trump's failed policies raise costs on North Carolina families, the DNC is all-in to support Ager, who will lower costs for hard-working North Carolinians and protect health care.
A reminder: Donald Trump and his allies in Congress have created a health care crisis in North Carolina. In NC-11 alone, 38,957 people are set to lose health care due to Trump's Big Ugly Bill, and five rural hospitals across the state are on the brink of closure.
In response to Ager's victory, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:
"Jamie Ager ran an incredible primary campaign focused on the issues that matter most to North Carolinians, from lowering costs to protecting health care. North Carolina families are bearing the brunt of Trump's inflation, trade war, and health care crisis - they deserve a fighter in Congress who will put them first, not another Trump lackey who puts the needs of billionaires ahead of working families. From now until Election Day, the DNC is all-in to ensure Ager wins this November and flips this seat for Democrats."
