Cohen & Co has been recognized by Newsweek as one of America's Greatest Midsize Workplaces for Culture, Belonging & Community 2026. The firm received a five-star ranking.
The award specifically honors workplaces that prioritize building and maintaining a culture where employees feel valued, heard and connected. Employers honored on the list this year have created an inclusive workplace environment that serves as the foundation of their organization's success.
"We are so honored to be recognized for our inclusive, growth-oriented culture," says Suzanne Jakstavich, chief people officer at Cohen & Co. "Our commitment to being an employer of choice and continuing to put our great people first is what drives us every day."
This comprehensive ranking reviewed U.S. employers with 500 to 1,000 employees based on their performance across metrics that matter most to women, minorities and diverse demographic groups. The evaluation included analysis of over 120 key performance indicators across six comprehensive categories: working environment, culture and belonging, compensation and benefits, work-life balance, career progression and training, and company culture. The evaluation also included in-depth research on management diversity ratios; published environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and Equal Opportunity Commission EEO-1 reports; and online sentiment regarding culture, acceptance and safety.
