DALLAS - Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts will host Dallas ISD's B.I.G. Design Charrette, beginning at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26. This marks an important first step in bringing the voter-approved 2026 Bond Program to life. Designed to encourage bold, innovative, and generational thinking, the interactive session brings campus teams, architects, and administrative leaders together with families and community members to directly shape the vision for future schools.

VISUALS: Travis TAG students celebrate Dolly Parton in style
Students at William B. Travis Academy/Vanguard for the Academically Talented and Gifted traded their everyday attire for big hair, cowboy boots, and sparkle, today Sept. 25 - a date chosen in honor of Dolly Parton's hit anthem "9 to 5." The campus-wide dress up day celebrated the legendary singer, songwriter, and literacy advocate bringing fun and high energy to the classroom.

High school bands prepare to go head-to-head
Participating district high school marching bands will bring the energy at the Dallas Bands United Battle of the Bands beginning at 7:45 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, at John Kincade Stadium. The family-friendly showcase highlights student musicians, drumlines, and color guards in dynamic field performances. All ticket proceeds directly support participating campus fine arts programs.
