Hosted by the University System of Georgia Asia Council
Co-sponsored and hosted by Georgia College & State University
All Georgia College faculty/instructors are invited to participate in the 2026 Teaching Asia Southeast Regional Faculty Development Workshop. This free, virtual program explores diverse academic perspectives across Asia and across disciplines, equipping faculty to integrate Asian content into their courses in thoughtful and innovative ways.
The workshop is organized by the University System of Georgia Asia Council and is chaired by Dr. Tsu-Ming Chiang, professor of Psychological Science and faculty director of mentored undergraduate research and creative endeavors at Georgia College, who has led the development and regional expansion of this long-running faculty development initiative. Under Dr. Chiang's leadership, Georgia College has proudly served as virtual host of the workshop for the past four years.
WHY ASIA?
Asia is the world's largest and most populous region, rivaling the West in economic, geopolitical and socio-cultural influence. As global dynamics continue to shift, it is increasingly important for faculty across disciplines to understand Asia's role and incorporate relevant regional perspectives into their teaching.
