WASHINGTON, D.C. - Transportation is entering a new era of investment, innovation and technological change. To help its members lead that transformation, the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA) is strengthening its policy, advocacy and communications capabilities to better serve its global membership and elevate the voice of the tolling industry.

IBTTA today announced the appointment of Zachary M. Radford as vice president of policy and government affairs. Radford brings more than 20 years of multimodal transportation experience spanning Capitol Hill, federal and state government, national associations, public transportation and road safety, where he has advanced bipartisan legislation, helped secure billions of dollars in transportation investment and built coalitions to address some of the transportation industry's most complex technology, funding, and safety priorities.

As vice president of policy and government affairs, Radford will lead IBTTA's policy, advocacy and government affairs efforts, working closely with members, policymakers and industry partners to advance the association's strategic priorities and advocate on behalf of its global membership.

"The strength of IBTTA has always been the expertise and leadership of our members," said Mark Chung, executive director and CEO of IBTTA. "Every day, they are investing in infrastructure, improving safety, advancing innovation and delivering better experiences for the traveling public. Radford will help ensure those real-world perspectives continue to inform the policies and decisions shaping the future of transportation."

Radford succeeds Mark Muriello, whose distinguished transportation career and longtime service to IBTTA-including on its Board of Directors-helped shape the association and the tolling industry.

Before joining IBTTA, Radford served as vice president of government affairs at the National Safety Council, where he led national advocacy efforts to advance road and workplace safety, mobilized nearly 500 organizations in a coalition that contributed to the reinstatement of 1,000 federal safety professionals and helped strengthen state safety policies. Previously, as vice president of congressional affairs at the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association, he helped secure more than $2 billion in federal investment for rail infrastructure and built bipartisan support for legislation expanding an $8 billion rail tax credit.

Earlier in his career, Radford held a leadership position with the Washington Metrorail Safety Commission and a key advocacy role at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. Radford also served for seven years on Capitol Hill, advising U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Jon Tester on transportation and infrastructure policy, helping shape federal legislation and funding priorities.

Radford earned a Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from Georgetown University.

IBTTA also announced the addition of Dante DeSanctis as manager of communications and marketing.

Before joining IBTTA, DeSanctis served as research director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee, where he led a team responsible for developing research, messaging and communications materials supporting national advocacy campaigns. He previously held research and communications roles with the National Republican Congressional Committee and HSP Direct, building expertise in strategic communications, policy research, digital engagement and content development.

At IBTTA, DeSanctis will support the association's marketing and communications strategy, advancing advocacy, elevating member leadership and communicating the value of the global tolling industry.

Together, these additions reflect IBTTA's continued investment in the capabilities and talent needed to deliver greater value for members and support the association's long-term strategic priorities.
