Senior Chinese officer holds talks with chief of Australian Defence Force

BEIJING, Aug. 13 -- General Liu Zhenli, member of China's Central Military Commission (CMC) and chief of staff of the CMC Joint Staff Department, held talks with the visiting Admiral David Johnston, chief of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in Beijing on August 13, 2025.

The two sides had an in-depth exchange of views on China-Australia relations and mil-to-mil ties, international and regional security situations, and issues of common concern, and agreed to strengthen defense dialogue and promote the development of bilateral military relations.
